I guess some people have to find blame instead of looking at their own place in San Francisco, I mean, hell, the Mark Hopkins and the Fairmont have problems. I did ask her about a couple of bad reviews she had regarding bugs and she was happy to send me the Clark Pest Control Report showing no bugs. Rebecca lets me know about the tours that pick you up and drop you off for wine tasting, since tour operators change so often. I can just leave my car and walk into Calistoga. I love being around the trees and nature with just a hop, skip and a jump into town. Let's me know what spas are hot (no pun intended). The Inn Keeper Rebecca has always been very nice and helpful and lets me in on the new gossip in town about eateries and wineries. I have been coming here, on and off since 1989. At least it might keep you out of the rain.… At $200 per night, I feel that I wasn't only cheated but robbed! I do not recommend the Enchanted Cottage unless you are used to living on the streets. The only thing that was good was the coffee, but you had to drink them out of cups that were scored with grime. The breakfast portion was not a breakfast but a small assortments of croissants with wedges of cheese and three fruits. Unfortunately everything else was already booked so we had no choice, but to stay there. There were moths and silverfish insects through the unit. The bathtub was a claw type one the was way too narrow to bath in let alone take a shower because the shower curtains surrounded the inside and the tub itself was very slippery causing me to fall the first time I used it. The toilet was cracked on the side and had a small leak going onto the floor. The whole place was not even as good as a bad Motel 6. At first site walking in you notice that the carpet had not been cleaned in a few decades and appeared to have been installed in the 1950s. My wife and I recently had reservations for the Valentine/Presidents Day weekend and while the pictures posted for the site made it look adorable, it was anything but. Not only was the place dirty.but it literally was the creepiest place I have even been in.you just know some horrible things have gone on there.… The owner calls me not once but 4 times.first she wanted to know why I didn't have cash, 2nd was she was sending the guy back to get my drivers license, third was to ask if the guy could take me to an atm to get cash at a gas station.my response was NO.and the 4th time I didn't answer.she is BAT OUT OF HER MIND NUTS.I got a towel from the bathroom tossed the comforter on the floor and put the towel on the pillow and slept in my clothes.the sheets smelled awful.I was out of there at 7am. Soooooo am totally freaked out and the misquitos are off the charts everywhere. The carpet was olld stained.there is a bed in the hallway that has a stained comforter.in the other "room" there is a bed shoved into a small room that has a comforter that I am sure was purchaed about 25 years ago. This place was creepy and I didn't even want to take my shoes off. So I show up and this guy walks me to my "cottage" we walk in and I am HORRIFIED. The woman told me how much it was going to cost and given the late hour I thought the price was crazy but I agreed to pay it (AND SHE ASKED FOR CASH OR A CHECK I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN RIGHT AWAY). I called around and found this B&B on yelp. So I had a little too much fun in wine country and decided to stay up and not drive home. Complimentary amenities include, a continental breakfast, delivered to your front porch each morning, use of the outdoor patio area for lounging, picnicking, and an outdoor BBQ - fireplace for cooler weather. A Calistoga "Enchanted Cottage B&B", is an early Calistoga settlement the cottages were built in the 1830's and the grounds are terraced with old, moss covered, fieldstone rock walls. A cottage or suite has private baths, A/C, candle-light &/or fireplaces in living rooms, claw foot tubs with showers, kitchen areas, WI-FI, cable TVs, CD players, queen feather beds, and private entrances and large front sitting porches for each room. The Inn showcases original prints of innkeeper, local professional photographer Rebecca Sheppard.
